Tennessee band The Features will be playing at Chop Suey on February 7th, and the show will definitely not be one to miss. The Features have been releasing quality tunes since 1994, and with the release of their new album, Wilderness, not much about their standard of quality has changed. Highlight tracks “Content” and “Rambo” host the best example of the band’s sound, a stout mix of southern indie rock and anthem leads that could fill Key Arena just as well as it could fit in with the ambiance of Tractor Tavern. The Features’ sound is built for the stage. Their textures are stripped down to the core essentials so that they can show off their songwriting in any venue.
Some may remember The Features from their promotion by Kings of Leon back in 2009 - there’s a reason for that. The Features sound inspired by earlier Kings of Leon releases like Youth and Young Manhood, but they have brought the sound to new levels and personalized it with Wilderness. Check the album out at Bandcamp. Make sure to check out their Chop Suey show on February 7th, and watch their KEXP performance from last September below:
