
Jack White has announced that he’ll be releasing his debut solo album, Blunderbuss, on April 24 via his own Third Man Records. All I have to say is this: It’s about damn time! Since the official breakup of The White Stripes, the guitarist has been producing several Third Man Recordings, including a bizarre collaboration with Insane Clown Posse, and showing up in the news here and there, most recently for making a guest appearance on the reality show American Pickers. Now, it appears, we’ve finally come across a Jack White news story worth getting excited about. White has never been shy about his love for the blues. There are several videos of him giving solo acoustic performances of old blues standards as well as songs of his own creation, and few other artists seem better-suited to release an impactful solo album. If the first single, “Love Interruption,” is any indication, we won’t be disappointed. Listen below:
