If you haven’t heard of any mention of Lana Del Rey in the past few months, you’ve probably been living under a rock. This reserved pop singer came out of the woodwork with her beautiful and haunting single “Video Games”. The song was featured on Gossip Girl among other things, and quickly gained popularity. Once the video for the song debuted, Lana Del Rey established her unique sense of style - a modern take on the golden era of Hollywood, where girls chased after the rebel without a cause, and societal over-dramatization was at its peak. Thus, in a fresh approach to pop music, Lana Del Rey’s debut LP Born To Die applies the desperation of the pop dream to the day-to-day struggle to maintain identity.
Del Rey has been done a handful in-store performances at record stores in the past few months, including a fantastic performance at Amoeba Records (watch it here). Now, she’s coming to Seattle to give us a taste of her live show by playing at Easy Street Records in lower Queen Anne on Saturday, March 10th. The show starts at 2pm. Lana will be doing a limited signing session after her performance. If you want to get it, go down to Easy Street Records before the show and buy a CD, with which you’ll receive a wristband. Get them before they run out!
See you at the show. Watch her video for “Blue Jeans” below:
