  • Bon Iver frontman Justin Vernon has partnered with Minneapolis-based rap artist Astronautilis. What began as a casual artistic endeavor resulted in a weekend-long recording session, and ultimately, enough material for an album. No word on the album’s title or release date, but it will be released by Vernon’s own label, Chigliak Records.
  • Hip-hop soul benefactor Abel Tesfaye of band The Weeknd released tour dates today for East and West Coast bonanzas following his Coachella appearances. Look to hear this song and more in Seattle, May 11th at Showbox at the Market. Find full tour dates over at Pitchfork and get your tickets here.

  • In a recent interview with The GuardianDamon Albarn of bands Gorillaz and Blur revealed his desire to no longer produce new work for his two most prominent projects. The last live Blur show will be in London this summer for the Olympic Games’ closing events. If the last full-length album from the Gorillaz is to be Plastic Beach, then at least they finished strong. Relive the magic below:

  • Lollapalooza‘s lineup was released today and includes headliner Black Sabbath. Check out the full lineup here. The final schedule for the first weekend of Coachella was released today, and can be found here.  In an unprecedented move, the iconic Indio-based festival decided to double the fun and their profits and spring for two weekends of festival programming. Here’s a quip from recent conversation I overheard: “Hey are you going to Coachella again this year?” “Yes, Coachella 1!” “Won what?”
