Goths In Trees Day: How To Participate

DJ Troy Nelson: loves goths, loves trees // photo by William Anthony

As we mentioned yesterday, KEXP is killing two birds with one stone (how morbid) this Friday, April 20th with Goths In Trees Day, celebrating both Earth Day and the birthday of Robert Smith of The Cure. We invite you to join KEXP in this worldwide effort by taking your own pictures of yourself as a goth… in a tree.

Taking tips from the website that inspired us, Goths Up Trees, here are some tips for your best goth photo:

• No smiling.
• No sunshine (easy for us in Seattle.)
• The higher you can get up the tree, the better.

Once you’ve snapped your photos, share them with us online! On Twitter or Instagram, you can use the hashtag #GothsinTrees and tag us at @KEXP. We also invite you to tag us on Facebook, and on Tumblr with #KEXP. Into the trees!
