  • Electro-pop artist Grimes has recently delved into jewelry design, courtesy of her collaboration with Montreal’s Morgan Black.  Unfortunately, the female body part depicted in said jewelry line cannot be appropriately discussed in any gentlemanly detail, so with that, check out the pictures here.
  • Reading and Leeds Festivals, BBC Radio 1′s Hackney Weekend, summer festivals in general: All things that Azealia Banks has dropped out of due to recording commitments.  Details on the artist’s recent cancellations can be found here.  But don’t worry, her September launch date for her debut album seems safe for the most part.  In the meantime, reminisce about what may have been with the video for “212,” featuring Lazy Jay:

  • Singer-songwriter.  Folk rock legend.  Went electric.  Political force.  Bob Dylan obviously needs no introduction, but that doesn’t stop me for attempting otherwise.  Now we can happily add “Medal of Freedom recipient” to the overwhelmingly long list of accolades.  Established in 1945, the Medal of Freedom honours anyone who has performed a meritorious act or service that has aided the United States.  Details on the award ceremony here.
  • “I come from a jock Republican Christian family, but I’ve always known what I was – a leftie.” --- Todd Snider.  Details on the hilarious roots-folk artist’s new LP, Agnostic Hymns and Stoner Fables, can be found here.  Also, check out his live performance of “Too Soon To Tell” off of the new LP, courtesy of American Songwriter:

  • And in the most surreal statement you will see today, Fleet Foxes’ frontman Robin Pecknold is set to score a new film dealing with the existential crisis of viral cat humor.  Um.  Yeah.  Film details here.
