  • Not one to let Of Monsters And Men monopolize 2012′s folk spotlight, Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeroes dropped their newest track, “Man on Fire,” on The Late Show with David Letterman last night:

  • Coinciding with the 50th Anniversary (wow) of the founding of the Rolling Stones, frontman Mick Jagger is set to pull double duty as both host and performer for the May 19th season finale of Saturday Night Live.  Little known bands Arcade Fire and Foo Fighters are set to provide backup; no word of a possible Mick Jagger / Maroon 5 teamup (couldn’t help it).

  • Azealia Banks has an EP, 1991, out within the month, a mixtape, Fantastic, this summer, a full-length album, Broke With Expensive Taste, this September, and as of several hours ago, a new track, Jumanji, courtesy of Soundcloud:

  • I’ve a feeling that human blood is gonna be the sleeper accessory for the music industry in 2012.  First Wayne Coyne uses it in his own double-vinyl release, and now Pete Doherty of the Libertines, in collaboration with the late Amy Winehouse, is auctioning off a painting smeared with the soul singer’s blood tonight, May 11th.  Details here.

  • Tomorrow, May 12th, Silversun Pickups will be at the Queen Anne Easy Street at 1pm to give us a tantalizing taste of their new album, Neck of the Woods.  After seeing them in studio today, I highly suggest arriving early.  More details here.
