Friday on My Mind: Sasquatch!

It’s time again for Friday on My Mind, the weekly collaboration between KEXP and King 5 News where we focus take a look at three videos centered around one subject. Today, we’re talking about Sasquatch!

The Sasquatch! Music Festival has become one of the premier music festivals in the United States. Attended by tens of thousands of people from around the world during Memorial Day Weekend, Sasquatch has become an amazing showcase of local and international music acts. But what really blows me away is that it is run and curated by a family of Yeti. The whole idea of hiding in plain site has not been lost on me. Adam Zacks is a Sasquatch. Here is footage of Adam when he was first caught by John Lithgow in 1987:

Harry and the Hendersons Movie Trailer from 1987:

Although no forensic evidence has been able to prove the existence of Sasquatch at this point in time, reports of sightings and supposed footprints located at various locations, specifically in the Pacific Northwest, go as far back as the 1830’s. A Protestant missionary reported that large giants lived in the nearby mountains of Spokane and stole salmon from the local fishermen. I also saw these giants play on the Ferris Saxon Football team in 1991. While they didn’t win state, they killed countless football players that year in Division A football. There is even an area in Washington near Mount St. Helens called Ape Canyon, which is where a supposed attack on miners by “Ape Men” took place in 1924, hence the name of the city. The most recent report of a Sasquatch sighting in Washington took place in June 2008 in Skamania County. Rumor has it that they appeared complaining of the lack of a decent wireless network in Skamania County and told a few residents to “get with the times”. Earlier this week, Discovery News reported that scientists at Oxford University just sent a call out for anyone with any evidence to step forward and submit their findings for use in University backed research in order to help to finally prove or disclaim the existence of Sasquatch. This was followed by every Scientist outside of Oxford University to laugh at them. Well, all of them except the University that asked for someone to bring in Nessy. Later, the Sasquatch was spotted at a Sonics game, flying from the ceiling and dunking basketballs. Sadly, the team was moved to Oklahoma when the government figured out what was going on. There were also the rumors of Squatch and the San Diego Chicken, but no one can confirm or deny that.

This is a great documentary that really proves the Sasquatch is real. It starts with 5 minutes of 70′s footage of forests and lakes and stuff so it has to be true!

Manbeast! Myth or Monster:

This one has an actual VULCAN reporting on Bigfoot. Vulcans only know logic, so this has to be real.
