Live Around Town This Week

It’s the 2012 Summer Fundraising Drive, the Seventh Annual Hood-to-Hood Challenge, and it’s Noise For The Needy 2012 week, so suffice to say this is the time to give. What a great excuse (as if you needed one) to get out and enjoy some local music with friends! Noise for the Needy is taking place between June 1st – 10th in venues throughout Seattle and proceeds will benefit Seattle Community Law Center (SCLC). There’s a ton of other great choices as well. On Wednesday night, Terry Lee Hale, Little Silver, and Whiting Tennis are at Sunset Tavern, while Gerogia Anne Muldrow, Dudley Perkins, Fly Moon Royalty, and DJ Rome are all at Neumos. As part of Noise For The Needy benefit, on Thursday night, The Duke Spirit and Hacienda are at Neumos, David J, Emily Jane White, and Graig Markel are at Tractor, and Viper Creek Club, Glitterbang, Sports, and Jupe Jupe are at Chop Suey. On Friday night, Fresh Espresso, Slow Dance, and White China Gold are at Neumos, more NFTN shows with Hounds Of The Wild Hunt, Hobosexual, The Grizzled Mighty, and Strong Killings at Comet Tavern, The Young Evils, Redwood Plan, and Seapony at Crocodile, and The Redwood Plan and Seapony are at Barboza @ Neumos. On Saturday, Rocky Votolato, CALLmeKAT, and Kevin Long are at Neumos, Horse Feathers and Death Songs are at Barboza @ Neumos, and another NFTN show, this time with Laura Gibson and The Local Stranger, is at Columbia City Theater. On Sunday, Noela plays a free in-store at Sonic Boom Records in Ballard, before their performance later that night with The Deer Tracks, and The New Trust at Sunset Tavern.

Also, we can’t recommend enough this benefit just confirmed: IT’S BEEN GOOD TA KNOW YA!! A Concert, Sing-a-long and Celebration of the Lives of Our Dearly Departed, featuring members of Circus Contraption and God’s Favorite Beefcake, plus Orkestar Zirconium, The Bad Things, Vince Mira and many, many others. This benefit for Cafe Racer Victim’s Family Fund takes place at Neptune Theatre on Thursday, June 7, with a donation of $15.

1 correction – the Friday, June 8th Redwood Plan NFTN show is at the Croc, not Barboza. Lineup is The Young Evils, the Redwood Plan and Land of Pines. Seapony is no longer on the bill. tx!

You’ve accidentally double-listed The Redwood Plan and Seapony. They are in fact playing at the Crocodile for Noise for the Needy. However, the Friday show at Barboza is A Silent Film with Hotels, and that is not part of the Noise for the Needy benefit.

Fixed. Thanks, Larry! Sorry about the confusion.
