Is your band good enough to be playing the festival stages this summer? KEXP, Microsoft, Starbucks and One Reel, producers of Bumbershoot, want to find out.
Here’s what you need to do: submit a video of your band playing some original songs at the Opportunity Rocks website by this coming Monday, June 11th, and if your band is chosen for the semi-finals, the public will get to vote for you among the top three semi-finalists from June 18-25. On June 26, the winner will be announced and eight days later, you could get to play a paid performance slot next to Hey Marseilles, Star Anna, and Campfire OK on the Microsoft Stage, produced by One Reel and sponsored by KEXP, at the Lake Union Wooden Boat Festival on the 4th of July. It doesn’t stop there though, as the winner will also receive a paid performance slot on the Starbucks Stage at the Bumbershoot Music and Arts Festival on Labor Day weekend.
This Summer could be your big break in Seattle, but before you can start practicing for the big gig, you’ll need to head over to the Opportunity Rocks website to read the terms and conditions and submit your video. Submissions are due by Monday, June 11th, so don’t delay!
