Monday Music News

  • Between touring eleven months out of the year and test driving some new tunes, Radiohead‘s busy 2012 has kept their fans both satisfied and salivating. This weekend, however, they gifted their fans with not only news of some kind of collaboration with Jack White onstage at Bonnaroo, but also the debut of a completely new song, entitled “Full Stop.” Although there’s no formal information on the Jack White collab – a 7″ on Third Man Records’ Blue Series is the speculative consensus – there are a handful of videos of the new song, one of which you can watch below.

  • Two weeks after the release of their forthcoming album, Centipede Hz, Animal Collective will hit the road in support of the album. They’ll begin their tour at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle on September 18th, then hit Vancouver’s Malkin Bowl and Portland’s Crystal Ballroom on the 19th and 20th, respectively.
  • Fiona Apple‘s return to the spotlight will be complete when her fourth full-length, The Idler Wheel, is wiser than the Driver of the Screw, and Whipping Cords will serve you more than Ropes will ever do, comes out next Tuesday via Epic, but if you can’t wait until then to start learning the new Fiona-isms, you can listen to the record at NPR. In other Fiona news, Epic released a music video for the record’s opening track, “Every Single Night,” this weekend. You can watch the clip, featuring a squid on Fiona’s head, below.

  • Synthpop stalwarts Pet Shop Boys return this September with their 11th studio album, Elysium. You can hear the lead single, “Invisible”, as part of a short film by artist Brian Bress below.

Thom Yorke; not only are you blowing my world with new music, but a collab with a fellow mind blowing artist Jack White? Unreal. Thanks for reporting KEXP!
