  • Passion Pit has uploaded another Gossamer track entitled “I’ll Be Alright”. If “Take A Walk” didn’t seem crazy or danceable enough for you, “I’ll Be Alright” will fulfill all of your Passion Pit desires. The song is a dizzying combination of all that we have come to know and love about Angelakos’s excellent and unique songwriting. Listen below:

  • Billy Corgan and the new Smashing Pumpkins having been releasing free tunes on the web for a couple years as part of the Teargarden By Kaleidyscope super album - a 44-song project that will take years to finish. Next tuesday, Corgan will drop Oceania, a 13 song album within the larger Teargarden project. But minutiae aside, is it worth grabbing when it hits shelves next week? You can judge for yourself! It’s streaming in full on iTunes now. Rest assured, it sounds nothing like Zeitgeist, and has Corgan exploring new territory all over the place. Check it out!

  • If you felt like this year’s Sasquatch! scheduling forced you to make some tough choices between bands, it’s nothing compared to the recently released Lollapalooza lineup. Pitchfork highlights many of the painful tossups, but check out the full schedule to see all of them. This year’s Lollapalooza lineup may be one of the strongest we’ve seen in a long time, but it comes with a big expense.
  • Thurston Moore is featured on the upcoming Michael Chapman tribute album Oh Michael, Look What You’ve Done: Friends Play Michael Chapman. You can check out his beautiful cover of “It Didn’t Work Out” over at Twenty Four Bit.
  • If you are a fan of British experimental pop singer Charli XCX, this is a great week for you. Yesterday, she dropped her new single “You’re The One” and today, she released a free 21-minute mixtape called HEARTBREAKS AND EARTHQUAKES. The mixtape features Charli’s tunes, some remixes, and some verses over other people’s tracks, making for an all-round good time. Listen to “You’re The One” below and grab the mixtape here.
