In an article written by Robert Christgau earlier this year, the self-proclaimed Dean of American Rock Critics, proclaimed, “Wussy have been the best band in America since they released the first of their five superb albums in 2005.” It’s a bold statement to make about a band that have spent their entire career under the radar, but as they embark on their first national tour in years, Wussy is preparing to emerge in a big way. Built on the chugging rhythm section of Mark Messerly and Joe Kulg and the distinct harmonies of Chuck Cleaver (formerly of cult band Ass Ponys) and Lisa Walker, Wussy’s sound is unmistakably theirs. Catch this one-of-a-kind group on their first ever visit to Seattle when they come to Barboza tomorrow, June 15th. They’ll also be live on KEXP tomorrow at 1PM, so tune in for a preview of this unmissable show. While you’re waiting, check out a live video of “Waiting Room” from their 2011 album, Strawberry, recorded during our SXSW broadcast earlier this year:
