  • Best Coast is just on fire, lately. This week, their showing off a contribution to Just Tell Me That You Want Me, a massive tribute to Fleetwood Mac featuring MGMT, Gardens & Villa, The Kills, Washed Out, and more. Best Coast is taking on “Rhiannon”, which you can listen to over at NPR. In other news, Best Coast is teaming up with Iggy Pop for a contribution to the True Blood soundtrack called “Let’s Boot and Rally”. The track will be heard on the show July 8 and be premiered July 5.
  • Paul Banks of Interpol has a new EP out today called Julian Plenti Lives… and supposedly a full length solo record slated for October. Matador Records has released EP track “Summertime is Coming” as a free download through their website, which you can grab here. It’s a beautiful, soaring piece, and a good addition to Banks’ solo catalogue as Julian Plenti.

  • Diamond Rings have a seriously awesome new video out today. John O’Regan releases the first single from his yet to be named sophomore record (out on Astralwerks in the fall) today. It’s called “I’m Just Me”, and the video features O’Regan holding true to that. The video is spacey and over the top, with outfits that look straight out of Bill and Ted’s vision of the future. With genius use of makeup, water, and lazers, “I’m Just Me” gets Diamond Rings’ new record started off with a supernova. Watch below:

  • “My Love Is Real”, the debut single from The Divine Fits, may have been a bit poppy for many. But fans of Britt Daniel (Spoon) will rejoice when they hear the new track from his and Dan Boeckner’s (Wolf Parade) new band. “Would That Not Be Nice” finds Daniel at is best, with a killer bass line and classic howling vocals that balance the two songwriters well. Check out the track over at NPR, along with the rest of their great summer music preview.
