Although the cool weather in the Northwest seems awfully appealing right about now, when Bethany Cosentino sings about California, she makes a pretty good case for heading south to the warm beaches of the Golden State. Two years after Best Coast‘s debut, both Cosentino’s songwriting and the band’s playing have grown by leaps and bounds as a result of consistently being on the road. Fortunately, throughout this evolution, they’ve kept all the endearing qualities (Cosentino’s simple rhyme schemes, Bobb Bruno’s sunny guitar leads) of the charming band we fell in love with two years ago.
