Listen to “Honeycomb” and Interview with Animal Collective on KEXP

You might have already heard by now, but experimental group Animal Collective stopped by The Cutting Room Studios in NYC to perform a set for KEXP last week, What you might not have known is that Noah (Panda Bear) and Brian (Geologist) sat down with KEXP’s DJ El Toro to answer a few questions ahead of the September release of Centipede Hz, their forthcoming and tenth studio album. Take a listen as they discuss topics including the influence of radio signals on their music, the reason the songs on the Honeycomb/Gotham 7″ aren’t on the album, and how the writing process of Centipede Hz contained a section of music designated “the Rick Springfield Jam”. You can also hear the band’s performance of “Honeycomb,” from their live session for KEXP, which will air in its entirety later this month, here:
