The last time we checked with local duo Lemolo, they had only a pair of songs released on The Singles Record, but now, with a brand new full-length debut, The Kaleidoscope (self-released on July 3), Meagan Grandall and Kendra Cox return to the KEXP studio with new songs and new energy. “Haunting,” people usually say to describe their atmospheric pop, and no doubt their dreamy songs will linger with you long after you’ve heard them, but there’s nothing really dark about Lemolo’s music. Grandall croons with a mixture of deep longing and aerial sultriness, while Cox’s dynamic percussion is thrilling to hear and see. As you’ll see in their performance, live on Audioasis with DJ Sharlese, Grandall and Cox truly enjoy performing together. Watch now as Lemolo shows all those other dour dream-poppers how to have fun!
Check out more music from Lemolo on their website, Facebook and Bandcamp pages. And if you’re at the Capitol Hill Block Party, be sure to catch Lemolo on Saturday, July 21st, on the Vera Stage at 8:30PM and earlier that day, live on KEXP from Barboza at CHBP at 3:30PM.
