  • Yesterday was a sad day for Seattle Mariners fans, as Ichiro Suzuki has been traded to the Yankees. In his personal response to these events, Ben Gibbard has written an upbeat yet melancholy tribute to the well-loved baseball player entitled “Ichiro’s Theme”. Listen to it below:

  • Bat For Lashes announced that their new album The Haunted Man will be out October 23 in the United States on Capitol Records. Along with that, they released the studio version of new song “Laura” via BBC1. The haunting and beautiful new track has an appropriately haunting video to go along with it, that you can watch here. The track is available to all that pre-order The Haunted Man on their website.

  • Electronic mastermind Caribou (Dan Snaith) has announced a new full-length album under his alias Daphni. Snaith first took on the Daphni persona to pursue more danceable tracks, remixes, and whatnot. Now, he is releasing a whole album as Daphni, called Jiaolong. Jiaolong will be more danceable and more club-driven than past Caribou records, says Snaith. The record is out October 9 on Merge. We heard the first single off the record, “Ye Ye”, late last year, but here it is again.

  • Last week, Adult Swim released an awesome new song by The Field. This week, they are proving that the Adult Swim Singles Series is not something to be ignored. Flying Lotus has released a single for the series, featuring vocals by Odd Future affiliate Earl Sweatshirt. The track is quintessential Flying Lotus and feels quite natural with a rap verse over it. Grab it at the Adult Swim Singles Series website.
