A set from Seattle’s Absolute Monarchs is sure to be filled with one thing - lean, muscular rock. Easily one of the loudest bands to grace Barboza all weekend during KEXP’s broadcast at the Capitol Hill Block Party, the Joel Schneider (My Goodness) led quartet unleashed a five-song sonic assault on a rapturous audience on Saturday afternoon after their main stage set. Volume aside, it was an impressive display of interlocking guitars, pounding drums, and fierce rhythms. Any way you look at it, Absolute Monarchs left the audience with their ears ringing, and if you weren’t there to experience it in person, turn up your speakers and watch videos from their Barboza set below.
Be sure to catch Absolute Monarchs when they play the August 17th installment of KEXP and the Seattle Center’s 2012 Concerts at the Mural with Love Battery and Wayfinders.
