Drawing equally from post-punk and garage rock to make a singular, pop-infused brand of noise pop, Brooklyn quintet Crystal Stilts are one of those bands whose sounds always echo within the halls of a club regardless of its acoustics. The band produces a think, but not overpowering, wall of sound with their shimmering guitar and vintage ’60s harmonies. Certainly one of the dreamiest bands at Capitol Hill Block Party that weekend, their set at Barboza was about as ideal as a club gig can get - it was dance friendly, full of enveloping sounds, and, most importantly, sweaty. To get a taste of the band’s beautifully hazy sound, watch video of the band’s set from Barboza now:

Really really love these guys! Since 2005 everything they’ve made has just been excellent!
