  • Mount Eerie has announced a North American tour in support of their new albums Clear Moon, which was released this May, and Ocean Roar, due out September 4 on frontman Phil Elverum’s own label.   • In case you forgot that Divine Fits weren’t the only indie-rock super trio making music these days Atoms For Peace, the side project of Radiohead’s Thom Yorke and Nigel Godrich and Red Hot Chili Peppers’ own Flea, have released the B-side to their forthcoming single on Modeselektor’s Monkeytown label. The track is actually a remix of their own song “Otherside – Stuck Together.” For more information, head over to Pitchfork, and check out remix below:

  • Grizzly Bear have released a new track from their latest album Shields, due out September 18 via Warped. The song, titled “Yet Again,” is an almost five and a half minute long journey through muted, layered, and complex melodies before eventually devolving into an explosion of distorted guitars and drums.   • Excerpts from the novel written by Twin Shadow frontman George Lewis Jr. titled The Night of the Silver Sun were released online yesterday. The novel follows a story arc established in the “Five Seconds” music video, which Lewis has said acts as the prologue, revolves around a futuristic motorcycle gang, specifically two friends who are “fighting the good fight.” You can read excerpts from the novel over at Elliot Aronow’s website, who has published Lewis’ writing previously in his zine Our Show, and don’t forget to check out the “prologue” below:
