Live Around Town This Week

Sigur Rós plays on Wednesday at Paramount

As we recover from a beautiful (and hot!) weekend in Seattle, we have a whole crop of new and amazing shows to share with you this week. We start off slowly with some great small club shows at the Tractor with Phosphorescent and Mimicking Birds, and at the Sunset with Southeast Engine and Danielle Henry. Tuesday night, we recommend a great show at Neptune Theatre with Sharon Van Etten, Tennis, and Lemolo. Also performing that night, Elzhi, Thaddeus David, and DJ Swervewon are at the Crocodile, and  White Denim, Yuni In Taxco, and D.evolution.aires are at the Tractor. Wednesday has a couple great choices with either Shonen Knife, The Mallard, and TacocaT at Tractor, or sure-to-be-epic show with Sigur Rós at the Paramount. Thursday is also a crucial night out with Franz Ferdinand and Carnivores at Showbox at the Market, Regina Spektor and Only Son at the Paramount, and Too Short, Chillest Illest, and Steady The Boss at Neumo’s. The weekend has just about something for everyone, including our wildly popular (and Free!) Concerts at the Mural, this one with Brad, The Young Evils, and Posse, and hosted by our very own Quilty 3000. Things get loud upstairs at Neumos with Red Fang, Black Breath, and Brokaw, and they stay fun downstairs with Viper Creek Club and The Redwood Plan at Barboza. Dead Can Dance are at Marymoor Park in Redmond, Murder By Death and Ha Ha Tonka are at the Tractor, and The Features, Boom City, and Ships are at the Crocodile. On Saturday, Akimbo plays their last show ever at the Comet with Brothers Of The Sonic Cloth and Bitches CrystalThe English Beat and Natalie Wouldn’t are at Showbox at the Market, The Purrs, Black Nite Crash, and Drake Hotel are at Sunset Tavern, and Onra, Justice & Treasure, Mattewdavid, and WD4D are at the Crocodile. Sunday night finishes up with a cool show at Barboza with Twin Shadow and Poolside. Enjoy the week, here’s the full list of recommended shows:
