Cloud Nothings frontman Dylan Baldi is a man of few words onstage, so when he spoke two songs into the Cleveland band’s set at Barboza during the 2012 Capitol Hill Block Party, it was somewhat of a surprise. Even more surprising what that he announced that the band were only going to play one more song, which would mean their set would contain a grand total of three songs. Most audiences would be frustrated with a three-song set, but when the band launched into a grinding, fourteen-minute version of “Wasted Days”, any disappointment the audience may have felt was quickly subdued and converted into a fervent explosion of energy that helped the epic display of fury rank among the weekend’s best performances. Watch video of the marathon performance of “Wasted Days” (and the two songs that came before it) below.
