As one commenter on YouTube said of these videos: “When the drummer put the headband on to keep his headphones on, you knew right away the shit was about to get real.” Indeed it did. Bay Area band Two Gallants performed a rawly emotive and pummeling session in the KEXP studio as they introduced songs from their new album, The Bloom and the Blight, out this week on ATO. It’s been five years, in fact, since childhood friends Adam Stephens and Tyson Vogel have put out an album, and the time between has fueled their creative fires. The result is a blistering affair.
