For a quarter of a century, Shake The Shack has collected some of the world’s best rockabilly artists in one city for a celebration of one of America’s longest running musical genres for the Shake the Shack Rockabilly Ball. Sadly, all good things must come to end, and this year will be the last hoorah for the long-running celebration, but to make sure it goes out with a bang, KEXP has gathered a stellar lineup as the Ball has ever had across two nights. On Friday, September 28th, Carl “Sonny” Leyland, The Lustre Kings, “Smokehouse” Dave, and “Slim” Sandy will rattle the Highway 99 Blues Club. The very next day, Joel Patterson and the Modern Sounds, Dave Stuckey & His Rhythm Gang, Angelatini & The Treblemakers, Johnny & The Blades, and “Bloodshot” Bill will make the Tractor Tavern shake. Tickets are $20, there will be a 21+ bar, and the party starts at 8 p.m. both nights. Be sure to come out, because if the party’s going to stop, it’s going to be one hell of a send-off.
