“Tick Tick Boom” indeed -- on stage, The Hives practically explode. For years, the Swedish band’s concerts have been the stuff of legend and singer Howlin’ Pelle Almqvist is often touted as one of the best rock frontmen, ever! Imagine the insanity of The Hives and their fired up antics in the relatively small space of Portland’s Doug Fir Lounge. On the last day of our broadcast during MusicfestNW, fans packed the venue to watch Pelle Almqvist, his guitarist brother Nicholaus, and the rest of the black-and-white suited Hives strut, jump, and generally ham it up for the crowd. There may not be anything like actually being at a Hives show, but the videos of this session should be close enough:
