  • A.C. Newman has released another track from his forthcoming solo album Shut Down The Streets due out October 9 via Matador. The track, titled “Encyclopedia of Classic Takedowns,” features Newman’s fellow New Pornographer Neko Case on backing vocals resulting in a super clean indie-pop song sounding much like their other work, which is not at all a bad thing. Check out “Encyclopedia of Classic Takedowns” as well as A.C. Newman tour dates over at Matador’s website.
  • Never without at least 50 ambitious projects going on at once, Sufjan Stevens’ music will be featured in “The Year of the Rabbit,” a ballet choreographed by Justin Peck premiering at Lincoln Center’s David H. Koch Theater in New York early next month. Check out a promotional video for the ballet below, featuring some seaside dancing set to “The Palm Sunday Tornado Hits Crystal Lake,” and head over to Pitchfork for more information on this indie-rock meets high art collaboration.

  • Hot off their wonderful (and free!) Sod in the Seed EP Cincinnati indie-rock champions Why? have released the second single from their forthcoming album, Mumps, etc.. “Strawberries” is a delightful, somewhat somber, and expectedly odd track featuring plenty of goofy lyrics. Check it out below:

  • A man of many many sounds, electronic producer Diplo has released the video for his super chill and borderline psychedelic single “About That Life” featuring Jahan Lennon expected to appear on his long-awaited forthcoming solo album. Check out the sun-soaked, kaleidoscoped, and incredibly colorful video below:
