If you were listening earlier today, you heard local singer-songwriter Sera Cahoone sharing songs from her brand new album, Deer Creek Canyon, live on the Morning Show with John. Today marks the day of her Sub Pop release, but even earlier this month, Sera performed a special stripped down preview of a few new songs during KEXP’s broadcast from the Bumbershoot Music Lounge over Labor Day weekend. With only compatriots Jeff Fielder on guitar and Jason Kardong on pedal steel backing her up, she wound the career spanning set into three new songs, including the moving title track to the new album.
