Thursday Music News

  • Legendary alt-rockers Dinosaur Jr. have announced they will release a live album on November 19 in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the band’s explosive album You’re Living All Over Me. The live album, recorded in 1987 during the band’s first European tour, is titled Chocomel Days and includes live renditions of several You’re Living All Over Me tracks including “The Lung” which you can check out below. For more information and to pre-order the LP head over to Merge.

  • Considering the lyrics include “It’s all suicide to me” repeated over and over, the latest Death Grips music video for the track “World of Dogs” is pretty much exactly what you would expect. Set against a backdrop of burning things and wriggling insects, the apocalyptic is a pretty unsettling experience, albeit less unsettling then the album art for Death Grips most recent album NO LOVE DEEP WEB. Check out the video below:

  • Thee Oh Sees have released the video for their song “Lupine Dominus” off their recent album Putrifiers II. Set in a back alley seedy strip club, the video features a surprising plot twist or two with a heightened sense of tension amplified by the San Francisco psychedelic surf-rock band. Check out the almost NSFW video below.

  • Twin Shadow frontman George Lewis Jr. recently lent his 80′s vocal stylings to UK bedroom artist Chad Valley for the latest single off his forthcoming debut full-length Young Hunger. The collaboration track, titled “I Owe You This,” features Chad Valley’s Hugo Manuel and Lewis trading off vocals for a result that sounds much more Roxy Music than Morrissey. Listen to “I Owe You This” below and check out more Chad Valley over at his tumblr.
