Tuesday Music News

  • Please forgive me for missing this gem in yesterdays news: El-P dropped this epic video for his “Stay Down” off the Cancer 4 Cure album. The video features El-P rapping to a crowd of hilariously confused/befuddled/apathetic teens and young adults while this same crowd turns psychotic at the appearance of a pop-star-studded band. Check it out for yourself.

  • Eternal slacker from our more beautiful northern counter-country Mac Demarco‘s  2 comes out today just nine months after his first release on Captured Tracks of Rock N Roll Nightclub.

  • Bon Iver released this strange music video today for their song “Beth/Rest”. “It’s kind of about two people who are truly meant for each other and what happens to their essence,” Justin Vernon said about the song. And there are two people in the song, and they definitely have some kind of connection, but there’s also weird white suits, a magical forest, alot of starry eyed lovers gazes, and some strange glowing eggs. See for yourself below.

  • In November, Sonic Youth will be releasing Smart Bar - Chicago 1985, among the many shows recorded by fans on cassette players and archived. They released this song today from the recording: it’s all noise and loud and rough like you’re actually at the show.
