After spending their formative years together in Ireland, Stevie Appleby, Faye O’Rourke, Adam O’Regan, Donagh Seaver O’Leary, and Dylan Lynch formed Little Green Cars when they were merely 15 years of age. Five years later the quintet is eager to release their debut album on Glassnote Records set to be available state-side early next year. Teaming up with producer Markus Dravs (Arcade Fire’s The Suburbs) Little Green Car’s share a penchant for capturing youthful energy while remaining bright eyed and earnest in a way that only twentysomethings can.
Little Green Car’s lively set for KEXP’s broadcast at CMJ Union in New York City during the 2012 CMJ Music Marathon showcased the band’s latest single, “The John Wayne,” wrapping everyone gathered in the room in a warmth of sound. Folk harmonies and moving ballads comparable to Fleetwood Mac’s most catchy moments drifted through the air keeping everyone on their toes and eager to hear more as they wrapped up their set with “It’s a Long Way to Tipperary.” The band displayed confidence and prowess beyond their years revealing their craft without missing a beat. Little Green Car’s set is one of the many magical moments that happen when bands come by, broadcasting the best of the best.
