Live Around Town This Week

We finish out October with Halloween and a strong week of shows ahead, and we swing right into November with a ton of other great choices. Monday starts pretty damn string with Robyn Hitchcock and the Young Fresh Fellows at Triple Door, Dark Dark Dark, Emily Wells, and Eternal Fair at Crocodile, and  Nneka at Tractor Tavern. Some scary choices Tuesday night at Chop Suey with Twerps, Witch Gardens, Crypts, Ononos, Haunted Horses,  and Battle Stations.  Matt & Kim and Oberhofer are at Neptune Theatre, and Orequesta Aragón play the first of two days at Jazz Alley. There’s a cool Halloween show at the Funhouse on Wednesday night with a ton of bands including Glenn or Glennda (Misfits covers), Poop Attack, Hollow Points, Last Gasp, The Downstrokes, Blood Orange Paradise, Tight Lies and many others. You could also go check out an amazing show with Toadies and Helmet at Showbox at the Market. Thursday night, Jens Lekman and Taken by Trees are at Neptune Theatre, Saint Etienne is at Showbox at the Market, and  Sea Wolf is at Tractor Tavern. On Friday there’s a highly recommended show at Barboza with METZ, Survival Knife, and Monogamy Party. The Sea and Cake, Matthew Friedberger, and The Purrs are at Crocodile, and Grave Babies are at Comet Tavern. On Saturday night, the weekend kicks off with The Afghan Whigs at Showbox at the Market, Cat Power at Showbox Sodo, and an Audioasis Benefit Showcase for YouthCare with Song Sparrow Research, Tokyoidaho, and Western Medicine at Sunset Tavern. And if that wasn’t enough, Typhoon, The Horde & The Harem, and Lost Lander are at the Crocodile. Sunday winds down with Twin Sister, Pure Bathing Culture, and Land of Pines at Sunset Tavern, and the 2012 Earshot Jazz Festival with Robert Glasper Experiment at the Triple Door.
