  • Good news for Death Cab for Cutie fans: this coming January, Artist in Residence will reissue the band’s ¬†early work in a limited edition vinyl collection. The autographed, cloth-bound box sets will include You Can Play These Songs with Cords, Something About Airplanes, We Have the Facts and We’re Voting Yes, the Forbidden Love EP, The Photo Album, the Stability EP, and Transatlanticism. The set is currently available for preorder and only 1,500 copies will be pressed, so get yours while you can.
  • This morning, Sufjan Stevens released an adorable video for his take on the holiday classic “Silver & Gold.” According to Stevens’ Tumblr, the video is “[a] Super 8 of [his] nephew Gavin, age 4, exhibiting immense joy.” Frolicking on the beach and flying kites may not go hand-in-hand with Christmas, but childish glee is contagious all year round. Stevens’ new album Silver & Gold: Songs for Christmas, Vols. 6-10 drops on Tuesday, and he’ll kick off his string of Christmas shows in two weeks.

  • And now, here’s a video that’s anything but innocent: Amanda Palmer‘s new video for “Do It With a Rockstar,” off her latest LP, Theatre is Evil. Palmer shares directing credits with Wayne Coyne (of Flaming Lips fame), George Salisbury and Michael McQuilken, and some of the shots were filmed at Coyne’s home in Oklahoma City. The video opens with some comic relief, courtesy of some feisty drag queens and disaffected hipsters, but before long, the rock stars start... well, doing it. Warning: this video is NSFW (unless you write the Music News for KEXP, of course).
