
- Yo La Tengo have announced their new album is titled Fade and will be released by Matador on January 15. It’s their first since 2009′s Popular Songs. - In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, the Occupy Wall Street movement (still around, by the way) has morphed into Occupy Sandy which has been organizing volunteers for Hurricane relief. A dream-team of indie bands have teamed up to play a benefit for Occupy Sandy this Saturday, including The Walkmen, Real Estate, Cass McCombs, Devendra Banhart, and headliners The Dirty Projectors and Vampire Weekend. - Widowspeak have announced on their Facebook that their LP Almanac will be released this January on Captured Tracks. They shared “Ballad of the Golden Hour” on Pitchfork, with beautiful vocals by Tacoma native Molly Hamilton.

- Big Boi has said that Andre 3000 will not appear on his upcoming album Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors because he was busy doing “some Gillette shit.” [Stereogum]
- Bradford Cox from Atlas Sound and Deerhunter joined Divine Fits on stage last week to cover the Ramones’ “53rd & 3rd”. And to continue with Sandy-related news, Cox adds after the song that “53rd & 3rd is probably underwater right now.” [prefix]
- Brooklyn electronic duo Silent Drape Runners are playing their own new live soundtrack to David Lynch’s cult classic TV series Twin Peaks. It’s tough to top Angelo Badalamenti’s score for the show, but considering the band’s name, they must be big fans--check out the video below. [prefix]
