Rocksteady riddims from Reykjavik! Icelandic irie! We could go on, but the novelty of Icelandic reggae wears off as soon as Ojba Rasta’s grooves begin. We featured young, 11-member Icelandic band recently as a Song of the Day podcast and then live on air during KEXP’s broadcast from Iceland Airwaves ’12. Their appeal, though, is one to be seen as well as heard, so we’re excited to bring you video of the band’s session on one of the windiest days in recent history from the cozy space of KEX Hostel. As hurricane grade gales whipped around outside, Obja Rasta warmed us all with their island vibes. Check out photos from the set here and sun yourself with these:
