  • Hot Chip released this confusing but totally amusing video for “Don’t Deny Your Heart” – where those who have been denying their hearts are the video game soccer players. What starts as an innocent game controlled by a group of fun-times-having people becomes the video game having a mid of its own and ends in a huge field of soccer players kissing. Directed by Peter Serafinowicz who also directed the videos for Hot Chips’ “Night and Day” and “I Feel Better” – you can catch the video below. [Pitchfork]

  • Wayne Coyne of The Flaming Lips teamed up with Dave Eggers publishing house McSweeny‘s to produce a “continuous-play radio drama in the style of Mercury Theatre’s War of the Worlds” about a human-head shaped tumor on Coyne’s leg. You can listen to it tonight at 5pm PST on KCRW tonight or stream it below. [CoS]

  • Mac DeMarco released this gloriously lo-fi distortion layered video for his song “Ode to Viceroy” – yes, the Canadian cigarette. “Smoking till I die” sings a neon 80s-era computer generated skeleton head. The video also includes clips from actual old Viceroy ads. [Pitchfork]

  • Chromatics return with yet another video by Alberto Rossini, this time for “Cherry,” a yet unreleased track from the upcoming compilation called After Dark II. The compilation will feature tracks from both Chromatics and Johnny Jewel side projects Glass Candy and Symmetry. “Cherry” features glistening disco lights filtered and distorted into that late night feel we’ve come to know Chromatics for having. [Pitchfork]

  • In a typically confusing announcement, British band/idea/conglomerate WU LYF have both posted a new song and broken up. Underneath the ironically named “T R I U M P H” (already removed from YouTube), band members commented on the end of the band. Frontman Ellery James Roberts himself wrote: “WU LYF is dead to me. The sincerity of ‘Go tell fire’ was lost in the bull shit of maintaining face in the world we live.” [Pitchfork]
  • The LA ladies of HAIM released this basketball playing video for “Don’t Save Me” – besides having disco influenced tracks and long beautiful swishing hair these girls can play. Check it out below. [Stereogum]

  • In Andrew W.K. news – this morning we had a scare where headlines read “Andrew W.K. named cultural ambassador for the Middle East by U.S. State Department”. Un/fortunately this is not true – the State Department had this to say : “W.K. was also never designated a “cultural ambassador,” and “The embassy determined that was probably not a best choice and didn’t meet our standards.” [Stereogum]
