Nosaj Thing

  • Following the release of the video for “Eclipse/Blue” in last month, Nosaj Thing has dropped the track “Snap” from his upcoming Home EP on Innovative Leisure. Surprisingly mellow and swirling, the track’s heavier electronic aspects, glitches and bass, are almost disguised behind synths. So far, Nosaj Thing has only two shows on his bill for 2013, but we can’t wait for that to change. [Fader]

  • Fleetwood Mac has announced plans for their reunion tour including Stevie Nicks. Heading out on April 4th, the band will visit 34 cities throughout the US and Canada, including a stop at the Tacoma Dome on May 20th. You can catch the tour dates at FACT.

  • Brooklyn’s hip/chill Beach Fossils released “Careless” off their upcoming LP Clash The Truth. While the band is known for splitting into their several side projects including DIIV, Clash The Truth instead collaborates – it was recorded by Ben Greenberg of garage noise shredfest outfit The Men. • Goth-psyche rockers The Horrors are putting out a remix album and box set of theirĀ 2011 album, Skying. Entitled Higher, the set includes re-imginations of Skying by Peaking Lights, Connan Mockasin, Seahawks, Andrew Weatherall, Blanck Mass, Cherrystones, and Andy Blake. “We were driving through the deserts of California when we hatched the plan to release a boxed set of the singles from Skying, unaware that it would balloon into the monster that it did,” says keyboardist Tom Cowan, a.k.a. Tom Furse. The set will be released digitally on December 3rd. [Clash]

  • Rare and well-done, cooked-outside-your-garage label Burger Records down in Fullerton, CA, has decided to save not only a kitten through the power of cassette tape mixes – they’ve banded together with Thee Oh Sees, Gap Dream, White Fang, Redd Kross, King Tuff, and others to save a lil wiener dog named Popcorn. Cute, ain’t it? You can get the 2-cassette comp today. [Burger Records]

  • And here’s that Thee Oh Sees track from the comp:
