Oh hey! My name is Alex. I host the overnight variety show on Friday nights (technically Saturday mornings), assist the music director with reviewing new music, and fill-in on Expansions when they need someone to hop up on the wheels of steel for a 3-hour mix of underground electronic beats. There was so much amazing music this year that I couldn’t just contain myself to a simple ‘Top 10 Albums’ list. In the process of reflecting back on the year in music, I ended up diving into the deep end to include not only albums, but EPs and 100 (!!) singles — no remixes though, didn’t want to overwhelm you. ;-) Here’s what caught my ear in 2012:
