  • It's here. Sufjan Stevens has one-upped himself this holiday season with today's release of his Christmas-themed rap mixtape CHOPPED & SCROOGED. The songs feature Das Racist, Kitty Pryde, Busdriver, and Nicky Da B. You can download it here or stream it below. [Stereogum]

  • The National played four new songs during their set at their own ATP festival in Britain last weekend. Here's a pretty great fan video for their opening song "Lola", which has some really beautiful horns and a catchy verse with an extra beat -- this bodes well for a potential new National album soon. • Marnie Stern has announced she will be releasing a new album fantastically and self-referentially titled Chronicles of Marnia on Kill Rock Stars on March 19. The finger-tapping rocker has shared "Year of the glad" from the upcoming album, which you can stream via soundcloud below.

  • Jaki Liebezeit and Irmin Schmidt of seminal krautrock band CAN have teamed up with two german producers, Burnt Friedman and Jono Podmore, in a new band called Cyclopean. The band shared "Fingers" from their announced EP, which you can stream here.

  • Last week we shared music from upcoming Atoms for Peace album Amok which featured an expansive digital mural from artist Stanley Donwood. Well, it turns out Donwood, with some help from INSA -- an LA based gif/graffiti artist -- replicated the murals onto the outside of the XL building and created several really awesome gif animations from different angles.
