  • Is Paul McCartney to play with the remaining members of Nirvana? In a media frenzy set off by British paper The Sun the facts have become a bit obscured, but the chance that the Beatle will play with Grohl and Novoselic at a Hurricane Sandy benefit tonight at Madison Square Garden has not been ruled out. A publicist from Nasty Little Man, which represents both Grohl and McCartney, told SPIN "we can neither confirm nor deny" the reports. [Spin]

  • Canadian band Fucked Up have dropped a video for "Inside a Frame", which comes off their 2011 album, David Comes To Life, on Matador. The video follows the practices of a dance group in the style of movies like Step Up or Stomp the Yard. [Consequence of Sound]

  • The Feelies joined Yo La Tengo on stage last night as a part of Yo La Tengo's annual Hannukah celebration at Maxwell's in Hoboken, NJ. Yo La Tengo guitarist Ira Kaplan explained between songs, "If it weren’t for the Feelies, we definitely wouldn’t be here right now." The whole setlist can be found here, but among other songs, the Feelies joined Yo La Tengo for an encore of Bob Dylan's "You Ain't Goin' Nowhere" and "Sister Ray" by the Velvet Underground.

  • Philadelphia folk-rocker Kurt Vile performed his own Bob Dylan cover last week of "Knockin' on Heaven's Door," and a video just surfaced online. Vile has also revealed in an interview that his follow up to Smoke Ring for My Halo is ready. The album is helmed by John Agnello, who also produced Smoke Ring... and has worked for a long time with Dinosaur Jr. Vile says the upcoming album is "our [Fleetwood Mac's] Tusk, but no cheese.   • Wavves have released a new single and video for "Sail to the Sun" from their upcoming album, their first for Mom + Pop. The video follows the clandestine moral decay of a bible-thumping preacher. [Consequence of Sound]

  • French electronic duo Justice will release a new digital EP, Helix on January 9th. The five songs include remixes and hidden tracks off their 2011 album Audio, Video, Disco on Ed Banger. Below is the Domenico Torti remix of "Helix", which will be track 5 on the EP.

  • Ty Segall, who played Neumos last night, is reissuing two of his earliest albums. The first, due January 22 on In the Red, is the LP from Segall's band The Traditional fools, originally released in 2008. The second will be 2009's Reverse Shark Attack with his band-mate Mikal Cronin.
