  • Kurt Vile is commemorating his upcoming album by commissioning a mural in his hometown of Philadelphia. Violators guitarist Jesse Trbovich posted a photo of Steve Powers' mural on Facebook yesterday and confirmed that Wakin' on a Pretty Daze is, in fact, the title of the record. When asked if Vile was trying to upstage the Rocky statue, Trbovich replied, "Think big."
  • Yo La Tengo have shared another new song from their forthcoming album Fade. Like "Before We Run" (a new track the band debuted last month), "Ohm" is accompanied by an unusual video featuring a tree in Portland's Overlook Park. Watch the video below, and look for Fade in record stores on January 15.
  • Just in time for Christmas, Wavves have released a festive one-minute teaser video for their hip-hop side project, Sweet Valley. The LP, Jenova, is set to drop on Christmas Day via Fool's Gold Records and will feature the vocal stylings of Killer Mike and Da Vinci, according to Spin. Watch as children scream with joy and a Christmas tree goes up in flames!
  • Major Lazer have released more details about their upcoming album, Free the Universe, due February 19 on Downtown Records. The group posted a colorful cartoon album cover on Facebook yesterday morning with the caption: "5,000 LIKES & SHARES OF THE ALBUM COVER AND WE'LL ANNOUNCE THE TRACK LISTING." 650 shares and 4,983 likes later, we now have a complete list of fourteen tracks, which will feature Santigold, Bruno Mars, Wyclef Jean, and Vampire Weekend's Ezra Koenig.
