Before they headlined our fourth Little Big Show at the Neptune, Swedish duo First Aid Kit stopped by our studio to chat with Stevie Zoom about Bright Eyes, the Polar Music Prize, and their remarkable harmonies. Klara and Johanna Söderberg made a great first impression with their cover of Fleet Foxes’ “Tiger Mountain Peasant Song,” and they’ve since added Patti Smith’s “Dancing Barefoot” and Simon & Garfunkel’s “America” to their repertoire. The sisters performed tracks off their critically-acclaimed 2012 album, The Lion’s Roar, which was recorded in Omaha and produced by Mike Mogis. “Bright Eyes were the band that sort of got us into this music in the first place,” Klara says. “I got a guitar when I was thirteen because I wanted to play Bright Eyes songs.” Watch First Aid Kit play some of their own songs below.
