Live Around Town This Week

With Christmas over and the holidays all but wrapped up, there’s only one thing left to do: celebrate the New Year! We’ve got some great choices if you still don’t have any New Year’s Eve plans. One of KEXP listeners’ local favorites, Pickwick, are at Showbox at the Market with Radiation City and TomtenFresh Espresso, Grynch, Keyboard Kid, and Metal Chocolates are doing a Lazer Ball NYE at Neptune Theatre. Something different; the Atomic Rodeo: NYE Throwdown with Brent Amaker & The Rodeo, Atomic Bombshells Burlesque, and Country Lips at the Crocodile. Want a louder NYE? Monogamy Party, Wimps, Haunted Horses, and Ubu Roi are having a New Years Eve Bash at Comet Tavern. There’s also Supersuckers, Acid Angels, and The Valley at Tractor Tavern. The New Year starts off with a couple of fine shows this weekend. Orkestar Zirkonium, Balkanarama, Compassion Gorilla at Columbia City Theater on Friday night. On Saturday KEXP’s Seek & Destroy is co-presenting a nice loud show with Neurosis, Tragedy, Black Breath, and Stoneburner at Showbox at the Market. There’s also an Audioasis Benefit for Food Lifeline with Don’t Talk to the Cops, Stephanie, Dude York, and Wimps at Sunset Tavern. There’s also a Benefit for P.O.S. (who needs a kidney) with Grieves, Grayskul, Sadistik, and Thirdz at the Crocodile to finish off the weekend. For a full list of show details for the week please check below:
