It just might be impossible for the current rulers of glossy reverb to create something that's not beautiful - Beach House's "Forever Still" short film is amazing. Shot in and around Tornillo, TX, where they recorded Bloom, the video follows them through four songs from sunset to sunrise, surrounded by the devastatingly beautiful landscape of desert and canyon. "Forever Still is directly inspired by Pink Floyd’s Live at Pompeii. We wanted to perform in a non-typical setting without losing the spirit of our music." Check it the 26-minute long film below. If facebook hasn't already overwhelmed you with the news - My Bloody Valentine dropped their new album mbv, which was created over the past decade or more. I could go into detail about the many times this album was rumored to exist, the times the band got together then broke up, but really all you need to know is this - "People who like us will immediately connect with something ... some people think it's stranger than Loveless. A mysterious ad appeared recently in the NYT "Notices: Lost & Found" classifieds. Turns out that what you should have noticed and, I suppose found, was that Vampire Weekend's new album is entitled Modern Vampires of the City and the album will be out on May 7th! Other announcements in the touring side of life - The Postal Service have announced tour dates following their announcement of the Give Up reissue set to come out on April 9th. Supporting Gibbard and Tamborello is Jenny Lewis as well as Laura Burhenn of Mynabirds. Tour takes them across the southwest before hopping across the pond to Europe. See those dates at Pitchfork.

We're so close to Nick Cave & The Bad Seed's album release we can practically see it on February 18th - and now we can watch the video for "Jubilee Street." It's rather NSFW - the film features actor Ray Winstone, living his life as the only name in a prostitute's little black book. It's a sad music video that feels like an entire film, for a dark song about hypocrisy and torment- watch below. [Pitchfork]

Seattle band FF hung out with Portland based IntoTheWoods.TV and we ended up with this awesome video of FF performing "Caught in a Dream." Like anyone really needs to be reminded of why they ever dreamed about being in a band - the beautifully filmed video jumps at all the right moments while FF basically just turns the room upside down with their wailing, but never snide or snotty as the trend seems to lean, rock. Seattle Red Bull Music Academy inductee Kid Smpl debuted this lovely animation for his song "Promise" from his Skylighting EP - created by artist Evan Cohen, the music video avoids solid story telling in favor of kaleidoscopic trip through ever shifting meanings. A voice starts to speak at the start of the track - before it's hidden behind a floating sheet of piano. [Impose]
