  • You may remember way back in December when we all were treated to the news that Bonnie "Prince" Billy was releasing his own fragrance (a mix of tobacco and Egyptian Jasmine, combined with the ancient wood of the Assam oud) -- and Sanae Intoxicants, the company releasing it, encouraged fans and customers to "relish in this mystical, swirling dance.” This type of merchandising seems to be slowly catching on, as we learn that, through their web store, Icelandic band Sigur Rós is selling their own scented candle named after their Valtari track "vardeldur". Mystical swirling dance, indeed. The candle is purported to smell like the band's studio, which they describe as the "smoky, slightly briny smell of a flotsam campfire on a distant black beach under a wan midnight sun." Can't say that that's not exactly the kind of description I would expect. And as you begin clicking your way to the Sigur Ros online store, stop on the front page to check out the new tour video! (or check it out below).

  • The Yeah Yeah Yeahs are playing SXSW this summer, and the news comes hand-in-hand with a second new album trailer for the upcoming, much-anticipated Mosquito. Their only confirmed show as of yet at the Austin, TX music festival is at NPR Music’s 3/13 showcase at Stubb’s, which also features Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds -- which sounds pretty incredible. Check out the new album trailer below, which has awesome new music but is only a tantalizing 49 seconds long. [Stereogum]

  • Freak-folk/hip-hop sisters CocoRosie have released a new song called "Gravediggress" in anticipation of their upcoming album Tales Of A Glass Widow out May 28th on City Slang. The track has piratical accordions as well as synths and electronic beats, and is guided along by Sierra and Bianca Cassady's beautifully unique voices. Stream it below. [CoS]

  • My Bloody Valentine have warned everyone online to beware of fraudulent ebay vendors saying they have mbv for sale. In the groups' words, through a facebook post: "there are a number of people on e bay trying to sell our album at greatly inflated prices, they do not have the album, and are, as such, selling a product that does not exist yet. please do not buy from these people. Our ship date for orders placed on our website is Feb 22nd. this is the date that finished stock will exist." So not only are those ebay copies grossly overpriced, but they don't even exist. Thanks for the heads up! [SPIN]

This does not exist!
