Live Around Town This Week

Mariachi el Bronx perform at the Paramount on Tuesday / photo by Brittney Bollay

With everyone descending on Austin this week for SXSW, that usually leaves things a bit bare in the cupboard. Luckily there are still some good choices for the folks staying at home. Things start with The James Hunter Six at Triple Door on Monday night. Tuesday night, there’s a great show at the Paramount Theatre with Flogging Molly, Mariachi El Bronx, and Donots and then we have Star Anna, Jason Dodson & Kevin Barrans, and Erin Rae are playing at Fremont Abbey Arts Center. Friday night you’ve got a couple choices; Efterklang, Nightlands, and Jherek Bischoff at Neumos or Gerhardts and Ponyhomie at Skylark Cafe. Saturday has the most options with Luck One, Raz Simone, Nick Weaver, and Tommy Cassidy at Sunset Tavern, Murs, Prof, Fashawn, and The Breaklites at Crocodile, the Penumbra Beer Bash with Prism Tats, Wimps, La Luz, TacocaT, Pleasureboaters, and The Catheters at King’s Hall, and Magma Fest with Marianne Nowottny, Imaginary Pants, Steve Fisk, Slim Moon & What Army at 20/20 Cycle. Sunday closes with Blue Sky Black Death, Keyboard Kid, and Child Actor at Chop Suey. Full details on all the shows below:
