Live Around Town This Week

With hardcore Northwesterner’s now back from a cold but successful weekend at Treefort Music Fest in Boise, we have a whole week of great new shows to warm you back in Seattle. On Monday night, we welcome Iris DeMent at The Triple Door, and then on Tuesday we have an exciting night out with Duff McKagan’s It’s So Easy and Other Lies, A Punk’s Revue at the Moore Theatre, Major Lazer, Angel Haze, and Lunice are at Showbox SoDo, and Doldrums and Sean Nicholas Savage are downstairs at Barboza. More surprises on Wednesday night with our good friends The Joy Formidable with Guards and Fort Lean at the Neptune Theatre, and The Specials with Little Huricane are at Showbox SoDo. Need more? Ducktails, Mark McGuire, and Monopoly Child Star Searchers are at Barboza, Matt Costa, Carly Ritter, and Sam Outlaw are at the Crocodile, and Widowspeak, SISU, Sons of Warren Oates, and Prom Queen are at Chop Suey. On Thursday night, Dark Time Sunshine, Void Pedal and Moodie Black, Xperience, and Graves33 are at the Crocodile, Jon Russell, Damien Jurado, and Tomo Nakayama are at Neumos, and Christopher Owens is with Melted Toys at Vera Project. The weekend looks fantastic. On Friday night, you have two benefit shows to choose from: the 5th Annual Gimme Shelter Benefit with The Dusty 45s, Star Anna, and Shane Tutmarc at The Triple Door or the Lighten Up! Camp Thunderbird Benefit with Jason Dodson & Faustine Hudson, Kevin Murphy, Kimberly Morrison, Dave Holmes, and Johnny Nails at Sunset Tavern. Why not go to both? Looking for other choices, we’ve got a great show with Phoenix and Mac DeMarco at Paramount Theatre, BOAT, See Me River, and John Atkins at Columbia City Theater, and Vox Mod at Vermillion. On Saturday, a loud night at Neumos with the Mudhoney for their Vanishing Point record release show with Unnatural Helpers and Universe People. The English Beat are at the Triple Door. Merchandise, Wet Hair, and Naomi Punk are at Barboza, Gibraltar, Two White Opals, and Slowbird are at Sunset Tavern, Yuni in Taxco, Orchids, and Charms are at Rendezvous, and Flume, Natasha Kmeto, and DJAO are at Lo-Fi.
