Tuesday Music News

  • The COMPLETE lineup for the Pitchfork Music Festival was announced today! On July 19-21 Chicago’s Union Park will be saturated with killer live music. Joining the already impressive lineup include- Glass Candy, Yo La Tengo, Phosphorescent, Metz,Julia Holter, M.I.A. and MANY more. A full, detail lineup (with times) will be available in the next few weeks. Tickets are currently on sale, you can grab them HERE!
  • Yeah Yeah Yeahs have revealed the video for their single “Sacrilege”. Some scenes actually take place in a church which seems fitting. It’s got British model Lily Cole kissing her way through all her wedding guests and reaping the excessive (just my opinion) consequences. The band’s fourth album, Mosquito, will be available on April 16 from Interpol. [Pitchfork]

  • Swedish trio Junip have released a track from their upcoming self-titled sophomore album. “Your Life, Your Call” has a simple rock vibe to it with the added flavor of bongo drums. The sound is spare therefore the lyrics along with Jose Gonzales’ vocals take center stage. [Stereogum]

  • It really shouldn’t surprise me that Waaves new “Afraid of Heights” video gives me the creeps. I don’t think I even have any words. What the hell? It’s so creepy and easily one of the weirdest videos I’ve ever seen. I felt like I was watching Buffalo Bill on disturbing double date. Be my guest and see what you think below: [CoS]

    • San Franciscan Mikal Cronin has shared his the opening track from his upcoming album MCII (his Merge debut). “Weight” has a pleasantly mild feel to it. Cronin has such a classic style that I can only imagine this being enjoyed by the masses. [Stereogum]
