  • Iron & Wine, aka Sam Beam, has graced us with a brand new song written especially for the upcoming movie, The Lone Ranger. "Rattling Bone" has a rugged and laid-back style that fits a western like a pair of skin tight Levis. The films soundtrack will also feature tracks from Lucinda Williams, Iggy Pop, and Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. The Lone Ranger: Wanted - Music Inspired by the Film will be available on July 2 via Disney Records. [Stereogum]

  • Last month, we brought you the brand new (and amazing) Nine Inch Nails song "Come Back Haunted" and today we have the official music video. It's never a good sign when the video features a "potential seizures" warning. The spastic visuals don't really fit with the intense lyrics. It's mostly shots of a creepy looking child and close-ups of Trent Reznor with the camera shaking. [CoS]

  • Every little taste we get from Janelle Monae's upcoming album, The Electric Lady (out September 10), just keeps getting sweeter and sweeter. Her newest release "Dance Apocalyptic" is throwback pop music at it's best. I guarantee after you listen, this song will be running on a loop in your head all day. Be warned, it also triggers a strong impulse to turn out some Jackson 5 dance moves. [Stereogum]

  • It's been a nine long years since they've created any new material, but today Pixies have surprised us with a fresh song called "Bagboy." They've even released a music video featuring a young man who plays the drums with some fine china. Gil Norton produced the track which was recorded last October. [Pitchfork]

  • Scottish indie rockers, Franz Ferdinand, are offering two new tracks to get fans excited about their new album. Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Actions will drop on August 27 and this is their first release in four years. Take a listen to "Love Illumination" and "Right Action" below. [Pitchfork]
