  • Pearl Jam have given their upcoming album, Lightening Bolt, a release date of October 15. This will be their first album since 2009’s, Backspacer, and to celebrate they have shared their new single “Mind Your Manners.” This song seems to be leaning much heavier toward the punk rock side of music than their previous material. Later this year the band will embark on an impressive North American tour that will eventually lead them to Key Arena on December 6. [CoS]

  • Adult Swim has provided us with some pretty great summer jams thanks to their ongoing summer singles series. This week it’s the addictive new track “On and On” from Autre Ne Veut, aka Arthur Ashin. He’s delivered the perfect song for both lounging by the water with friends or throwing out some killer dance moves with even better friends. [Pitchfork]

  • There was a staggering 13 years between Ben Fold Five‘s last album and last year’s The Sound of the Life and Mind, but luckily it turned out to be worth the wait. Now we have some visuals to go along with the melancholy song “Sky High.” The music video follows a young man pondering his relationship while chain smoking. Watch it below. [Stereogum]

  • Smith Westerns have shared the stunning B-side to their 7-inch “Varsity” record. “Case & Point” is an airy track that contrasts nicely with its album counterpart. This song just solidifies that their dreamy music will always remind me of the Beatles. The album is out now via Mom + Pop records. [Stereogum]
